Dennis Jacobsen

Senior Sound Designer

Director of Audio/Senior Sound Designer Dennis joined IMG in 1997 with 13 years of sound design and mixing experience already under his belt. He first worked as a sound designer, mixer, and field recordist in Minneapolis, mostly with ad agencies, on national spots. Trading the snow for the sun, he relocated to Miami, and started the sound department of what became Miami’s premiere postproduction facility. He later worked as an award winning writer/producer at a Miami production company for several years before coming to Washington, DC. The move was an opportunity to return to the field of sound design and mixing, as well as a chance to work at the legendary facility, Rodel Audio, in Georgetown. Since joining IMG, Dennis has worked with a wide range of high profile clients including PBS, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, HBO, The National Gallery of Art, and several of the Smithsonian museums. He specializes in the production of high-end, intricately layered tracks for spots and promos as well as for films, documentaries, and other long-form programming. He provides all forms of audio-for-video postproduction as well as radio spot production. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys downhill skiing, scuba diving, discussions of literature over coffee, and long walks on the beach.
